By today’s standards, this Lego ad from 1981 is considered long copy. And it’d probably get knocked for not being exciting enough or some such ridiculousness.

Those are some bad ass sneakers on that little ginger! What I love about this ad is the headline; the double “is” makes the viewer have to read it at least twice to be sure it’s not a mistake. more reading=better. Thanks Matt. Always fun to see your blog, Happy New Year !!
PS. RE: ducks fans. I’m sure you’ve seen this from ’09…. The filmmakers were in a heap of trouble. apparently the duck use was unauthorized by school ( but sanctioned by Disney in 1942) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hrjpe1VCNg

would hav made easy sense if focus was on the lego toys and not ful size pic of the child, and true copy could’ve been cut to maybe a sub header
