I don’t usually post work from friends, but I’ll make an exception in this case. It’s a San Francisco BART/Muni installation from Struck in Salt Lake City for Utah Tourism and it’s fantastic. I know from experience, it’s REALLY hard to do something like this remotely without having seen the space. So for them to come up with such a cool concept that makes such great use of the architecture of the Montgomery Street Station – my hat’s off to the creative team.

Here’s a great infographic with all kinds of interesting factoids about freelancing. I’ve spent a lot of time in the freelance world and it definitely has its benefits and drawbacks – just like any job. It’s not for everyone, but it can be a really great way to make a living for those who go that route.

The NFL knows how to do a website.

I saw the NFL spot that ran during the Super Bowl. Very cool. What’s cooler than that? Their new website – NFL Evolution – that chronicles all the health & safety rules that have been implemented throughout the years. Now I’m a little jaded – as this seems to be a pretty transparent ploy to deflect blame for all the long-term head and health problems that have been surfacing over the past few years. But the design of the HTML5 site is absolutely gorgeous, the navigation is fantastic and it does an amazing job of conveying a ton of information in and incredibly user-friendly way. It’s one of the best sites I’ve seen in a long, long time.
