UGC contests not won by regular people!


In what will surely come as no surprise to many, the Ad Lab has revealed that a ton of the winners in “consumer-generated” ad contests aren’t just regular Joes, they’re creative directors, writers, producers and editors. For instance, the winner of this year’s Doritos Crash the Super Bowl contest was Joshua Svoboda, a creative director at 5 Point Productions.

I’m not sure what’s more embarrassing – that the UGC contests are being revealed as nothing more than moonlighting jobs for creatives or that a real creative director came up with a piece of crap as revoltingly dumb as the Doritos ad above?
