We don’t believe in this.


I’ve done spots with major league players. I know how incredibly tough it is to get them to act. And that’s cool – they’re not actors. If you absolutely must use players in speaking parts, what you end up doing is trying to minimize the lines they have and put together something where they don’t look ridiculous.

Too bad no one could do that in this spot for the Mets.

It’s a tired, clichéd “We believe” construction full of tired, clichéd lines delivered about as flat as you can imagine. The players certainly don’t “believe.” On top of that, there’s the weird editing and desaturation of some of the shots while others are in full color.

Mets fans, let’s hope your season ends up better than this spot.
