Apparently, Camel has never been to San Francisco.
You’d think Camel would know better than to co-opt a cultural icon of one of the most anti-smoking cities in all of America. They’re out with a limited edition box that celebrates the history of the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood – but apparently no one on the project has ever been to SF. Because if they had, they’d know that the Cable Cars have nothing to do with the Haight.
I’m less outraged by a cigarette company using my city to sell their products. What I am pissed about is the sloppy research and art direction that can’t even get some simple facts right about where major tourist attractions are located.
