AKQA does something really cool with reindeer for the Gap.
Instead of doing something simple like “Check our Twitter feed for a new Gap deal each day!”, AKQA did something pretty cool. They attached GPS units to 8 different reindeer and assigned a special pricing deal to each one. Then every day, the reindeer compete for the winning deal. The reindeer that goes the farthest, fastest, etc wins. The site, Project Reindeer, has live feeds from Minnesota (What? Not the North Pole?) showing the animals out in the snow and you can track them via a special Google map.
All in all, a very cool use of technology and a really original way of doing what basically was a 5-day sale. Nice.
