LG was looking for someone to announce their new LG Versa phone. Someone big. Let’s do a cross-promotion, they thought. I know! Transformers Part 2! We’ll get big-time director and renowned egomaniac Michael Bay! What could go wrong?

How about Bay shows up at the CTIA Wireless 2009 trade show in Vegas, comes to your booth and says “I don’t know anything about mobile phones. In fact, look at my phone — it’s a thirty-nine dollar Samsung.”

Cue Michael Bay-like explosion of your entire event.

Of course being Michael Bay, he could never have one fiery explosion. He needed another. The President of LG Mobile tried to save face by then offering Bay an LG phone to try out. “All my contacts are in the other one,” Bay replied.

Aaaaaannnnnnd….CUT!
