Don’t hedge your bets, Avaaz.

Avaaz.com goes for the controversial in this new human rights campaign they’ve got out. Or do they? If you’re really trying to cause controversy, why wimp out and phrase the headline as a question? That just makes it seem like you have no conviction. You know they believe the answer to the question is “yes.” So why not just stand up and say it? You’re asking your supporters to do so.

I hate ads that try and hedge their bets like this. Obviously in certain categories (financial services comes to mind), there are things you can and can’t legally say. But this? Avaaz, you had your chance to take a stand and you took the easy way out.
